These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by Lumina Shutters & Blinds ("we", "us", "our"), a made-to-measure shutter and blind supplier based in West Dorset. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
We offer a free, no-obligation home survey to all prospective customers. During the survey, one of our team will measure your windows and discuss your requirements. A written quotation will be provided following the survey.
Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Prices are subject to change after this period. A quotation does not constitute a contract until an order is confirmed in writing and a deposit is received.
All orders must be confirmed in writing (by email or signed order form). A deposit of 50% of the total order value is required to place an order and begin production. The remaining balance is due upon completion of installation.
As all products are made to measure, orders cannot be cancelled once production has commenced. Please ensure all details are correct before confirming your order.
All shutters and blinds supplied by Lumina Shutters & Blinds are made to measure to your specific window dimensions. As such, they are bespoke products and are not eligible for return or exchange unless they are found to be faulty or do not match the agreed specification.
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all measurements and specifications agreed at the time of order are correct. We will not be liable for products that do not fit due to inaccurate information provided by the customer.
Estimated lead times will be provided at the time of order. Lead times are indicative only and may vary depending on product type, fabric availability, and manufacturer schedules. We will keep you informed of any significant delays.
We will contact you to arrange a convenient installation date once your products are ready. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by delays outside of our reasonable control.
Installation will be carried out by our experienced fitting team at a time agreed with you. You are responsible for ensuring that the installation area is accessible and that any furniture or obstructions are moved prior to our arrival.
We will take reasonable care during installation to avoid damage to your property. Any damage caused by our team will be reported to you immediately and we will take steps to rectify it. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or for damage caused by factors outside our control.
Building permits or authorisations, including any fees or charges, required or levied by any statutory authority, company or organisation, shall be the sole responsibility of the Customer.
See the Warranty & Guarantees section for information on product and installation guarantees and warranty.
Payment is accepted by bank transfer or cash. A 50% deposit is required on order confirmation, with the balance due on the day of installation. We reserve the right to withhold installation until full payment has been received.
Payments should be made by bank transfer.
In the event of late payment, we reserve the right to charge interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
If you are a consumer (not purchasing for business purposes), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of confirmation, provided that production has not yet commenced. Once production has begun on your bespoke made-to-measure products, your right to cancel is waived in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (Regulation 28), which excludes goods made to a consumer's specification.
To cancel an order within the 14-day window, please contact us in writing at [email protected]. Any deposit paid will be refunded in full if production has not commenced.
Our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total value of that order. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from our products or services.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of your order will apply to that order. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
