Warranty & Guarantees

The below information sets out the warranty and product guidance for all products supplied and installed by Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd. These Terms & Conditions form part of your contract with us and apply to all residential and commercial installations. The version supplied at the time of installation applies. We reserve the right to update these terms without prior notice.

Employee & Public Liability Insurance

Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd guarantees that it will maintain Employee and Public Liability Insurance at all times and provide evidence of such insurance upon request.

Product Guarantee Periods

We provide the following guarantees from the date of installation:

Labour and Installation

Labour and installation for every product we supply and fit will be guaranteed for twelve months from the date of installation. If any work is required outside of this period, then it will be subject to a service and parts charge.

One Year Manufacturer's Warranty — All Blinds

Roller, Vertical, Roman, Pleated/Cellular, Perfect Fit/INTU, and Venetian blinds in wood, aluminium and PVC.

Five Year Manufacturer's Warranty — Motorisation

Applies to motors, controls, and associated parts fitted with blinds.

Ten Year Manufacturer's Warranty — Shutter Materials

Covers structural integrity and craftsmanship. Note — shutters are not covered for any damage caused by water.

Every effort will be made by Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd to match colours (e.g. paints and stains) against samples. However, due to the natural and sustainable nature of the materials used, where natural variations of grain and colour can occur, Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd cannot guarantee precise colour matching in all instances.

Due to the exposure of shutters and blinds to sunlight and other light sources, Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd guarantees shutters against fading as a result of such exposure for a period of 5 (five) years and blinds for a period of 1 (one) year.

Misuse and Mistreatment

Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd shall not be liable for any guarantee if any reported defect is found to be as a result of misuse, mistreatment, poor storage/use conditions such as damp, humid or variable conditions or any situation outside of the control of Lumina Shutters & Blinds, that occurs at a customer location where the materials are stored or installed.

Shutter & Blind Black-Out Products

The customer accepts that Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd shutters are not marketed or sold as room darkening blinds or shutters and as such total light occlusion is not guaranteed.

Transfers

All guarantees apply to the original purchaser at the installation address and are non-transferable.

Exclusions

The guarantee does not cover faults or damage caused by the following:

  • Environmental or weather conditions, moisture, condensation and environment
  • Misuse or incorrect operation
  • Accidental or external damage
  • Impact damage, falling debris, pets or wildlife
  • Any alteration, adjustment or repair not carried out by Lumina Shutters & Blinds
  • Any modification to size, fabric or structure

Contra-adherence to the above may invalidate your product guarantee and/or warranty.

Customer Responsibilities

Customer responsibilities following installation are as follows:

  • Operate products safely and responsibly
  • Keep all products clean and free from obstruction
  • Allow access for inspection if required
  • Report issues promptly

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumina Shutters & Blinds Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss
  • Structural movement affecting installations
  • Costs resulting from restricted access

Our liability is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the product, not exceeding the original purchase price.

Making a Claim

All claims must be supported with sufficient detail:

  • Name and address
  • Installation date
  • Description of issue
  • Clear photographs
